Why come to Sicily?

A magical triangle in the blue of the sea. A land visited by Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans . Everyone left small or large fragments of their culture on the island. And still today you can admire the Greek temples, the Roman mosaics, the splendid Arab-Norman buildings, or savor the Arabian atmosphere that per vade i  Wed ed rionali.

A trip to Sicily allows you to discover why the island was so important to the ancients: the sun, the wheat, the hills so green in spring and burnt in summer, the heat, the crystalline sea, the colors, the scents, everything. contributes to making it the land of myth. A myth that is rediscovered today in the infinite variety of its landscapes , in the genuine flavors of its products, in the power of nature that the still active volcanoes make you feel, in the beauty of the monuments that reveal how the Mediterranean civilization has found its roots here.

Three : perfect and finite number.

Three as the points that limit

Sicily, a fertile, rich land in the center  of the Mediterranean. And here is the birth of the  ancient name, Trinakria , literally three points. The emblem is the head of Medusa

(one of the gorgons) from which three legs come off that chase each other, symbol of the sun in the  its three forms (god of spring, summer and winter); or of the moon or more simply of movement. The new name of the island, Sicily (and the most likely hypothesis wants it to mean fertile), did not, however, obscure this evocative image, which is still used today.
